SS Specific Service Issues/RepairsService/Repairs specific to the SS. Turbo-Brembo Brakes-2.0 Engine-Limited Slip Differential-Programmable Display-MU3 Transmission
i am new to the website, so not really sure where to post this but im having some issues with my 2009 hhr ss
About two weeks agoI was parked at a stoplight waiting for it to turn green. Once it did, i engaged the clutch and went to shift into first gear and heard a pop. Turns out it was the shifter cable that broke and I am in need of a replacement. I searched all over the Internet it seems that there is no part anywhere in America, Canada included. I contacted a couple other GM warehouses and they sent me a part that they claimed would work but after attempting to install it and wasting a good 3 hours, it didnt work after all. Returning the part now, and still in need of a fix for this issue.
Was wondering if anyone has recently done a transmission swap and has old cables lying around anywhere or if anyone has any information on how I can get a set of cables.
feel free to call or text me, as im not sure if ill get a notification from replies to this post.
i believe its the cables for the 2.4 L 5 speed, f23 transmission but i could be wrong. they were almost identical but the 15277760 was about 4 inches too long. i insstalled them and kinda let the extra cable hang to the size and crafted a way to secure them in place, but inside the cab of the car, the threaded part of one of the cables was about .430 in. too short and wouldnt fit into the the clip attached to the bottom of the shift lever.

thanks for trying to help, it doesnt go unnoticed. i used to have a Cobalt SS tc and both this forum and cobaltss.net have been very helpful. surprising how much of a family community vibe i get from it. the people on both forums seem help each other and its nice to see that especially in 2019
