What I'm seeing is "discontinued"

Dorman has a line of repair bushings.

You never answered if it was the bushing or the cable that broke. If it is the cable you can get some cable of the correct size from a bicycle shop and splice the ends on.. If it is the bushings a bicycle shop might have a jobber box full of them.

I was also thinking a Harley or motorcycle repair shop, they might have the parts to get you going, at least until you find the GM parts.

its the cable that broke. when i spoke to GM corporate directly, they never confirmed it as being discontinued. they told me its been on national back order for over 13 months meaning gm hasnt ceased production, they just havent made any in some time and have no projected date that they will make more

I bet you could source new end pieces and cable quicker and cheaper than waiting for GM to get enough orders to merit a production run.

Sourced a part from a mom n pop shop in Delaware, came in last week. They took it off a totaled SS. Hopefully this one lasts me until gm does a post production run. Thank you for everybody’s feedback and willingness to help !
