Looking for a how to on changing the PCV valve on a HHR SS
 
Looking for a step by step on how to change the PCV valve on a HHR SS
I searched on here and after a while I thought I would ask the experts here
since I came up with a ton of pages.

I've looked under every rock I can think of with no luck, try shooting a PM to donbrew. He might be able to get that info to you in a PDF.

Is it that difficult?

It's under the air box, but I thought it was just pressed in. And the hose comes along with the part. Gee, I just emptied out all my knowledge on it there... Am I missing something bigger?

I'm not at the home right now, that's where my Mitchell lives. I've never seen a PVC that was difficult to do.

I think/thought the actual valve is buried under the valve cover, and my Mitchell is back in NC, so I thought of you Don.

This is from an old post by c2vette.....

"The Primary PCV is integral with the valve cover and feeds directly into the intake. There are also two other relevant connections that vent into the intake if blowby builds up to a higher than normal level.

One connects "post intercooler" to the intake manifold, the other connects just before the turbo inlet (see photo). There is a one-way check valve that is inline on the hose to the intake to prevent boost pressure from entering the crankcase, and if that fails you can "coke up" the whole intake, so that is a critical feature, and if you re-plumb things, make sure you don't eliminate any fittings or especially, this critical check valve."

I am having a tough time with technology right now, but I am getting basically the same as Mike is. There are 3 PCV valves and it sounds a lot like one of them could cause your problem. There does not seem to be a R&R procedure in my Mitchell.

Check your PM bigjack. I sent a couple of pdf links your way. They are from and on my computer.

CRANKCASE VENTILATION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
General Description
A crankcase ventilation system is used to consume crankcase vapors in the combustion process instead of
venting them to atmosphere. Fresh air from the intake system is supplied to the crankcase, mixed with blow by
gases and then passed through a calibrated orifice into the intake manifold.

The primary control is through the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) orifice (1) which meters the flow at a
rate depending on inlet vacuum. The PCV orifice is an integral part of the camshaft cover. If abnormal
operating conditions occur, the system is designed to allow excessive amounts of blow by gases to back flow
through the crankcase vent orifices (2, 4) into the intake system to be consumed by normal combustion

Guess I need to see exactly where vacuum source for pcv valve is coming from.
Wondering if the add on electric brake pump vacuum is effecting this somehow but then again it was fine with that

The true pcv valve for the LNF 2.0 lives beneath the intake manifold
and I am told that has to be removed
still looking for a how to on removing the intake manifold to get to the actual pcv valve
