Otherwise, you would have to replace the entire control arm.

You are welcome, and if you need to replace the LCA rear bushings use Moog K201285 problem solver ball bushings , they last much longer then the rubber factory bushings

The wrong control arms, because they have the wrong ball joints, can cause damage to the steering Knuckles.

If the control arms are steel, they are incorrect. If they are aluminum, you will want to measure the ball joint stud with calipers.

Ball joint stub must be 20.5 mm

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/ss-s...iameter-64831/

Factory lower control arms on the SS had part number on them

Lower Control Arm - SS models ONLY (FE5 suspension)
IMPORTANT: they are only available thru GM - No after-market suppliers make a compatible part at this time, even though they may say the parts they have are for all HHR's
- GM - P/N: 25930724 - Right
- GM - P/N: 25930725 - Left
(note: Do NOT substitute a FE1 or FE3 LCA - the ball joint stub on them is 19.5 mm and is not compatible with the spindle on a FE5/SS which is 20.5MM)
