As a practical matter, yes. All HHR lower control arms (LCA's) are aluminum and seem to be dimensionally identical but...
GM never sold separate LCA's for SS, only assemblies complete with bushings and ball joints. So it's plausible to me that the material specification for the aluminum (casting? forging?) is different from those provided for LS/LT. Most of the rest of the SS suspension is beefed up.
So many SS LCA's have been replaced and tossed unnecessarily.
