Has anyone a part number for a magnetic oil drain plug to fit the HHRSS?

Got mine off ebay from seller: Powerslutracing (yes you read the name right..)

Yes they have them for the SS HHR also..

Has a rare earth magnet..(see pic).. Try this with an auto parts one. LOL it won't even hold a 1/8" wrench. I tested it..

When sleeper and a few others inquired about a magnetic plug in a previous thread, I suggested a quick trip to Autozone, because I had acquired one from them for a granddaughter's Impala.

Since then, I have noticed the material that is used for the "rubber" gasket has needed replacement twice (total of 4 oil changes). The plug itself remains a good substitute, but having a messy engine and driveway/garage is not acceptable. So, I would WITHDRAW my referral and say.......

Looks like sleeper has the best recommendation.

Snoopy..in the self help section of the parts store they have an oil plug gasket set..varius types and sizes...might want to try that as the rubber might not be good for that type plug..may need a harder material gasket....

Thanks Woody.......

I already bought a bag (12) from my Chev. dealer. Never know when the OEM's (which is the only part of the plug that can go bad) will go south. But their "rubber" material seems to last a very long time.....in my experience.

Oh, and that is exactly what happened to the aftermarket plug. The material was to soft and flattened......much like what GM warned about regarding some aftermarket oil filter seals.

That is where I got mine for my SS. It is very strong. I have a picture somewhere showing mine holding up a torque wrench.

Wow!! Cool.. They are super powerful..

Mine is holding an open end 1-1/4" wrench. Never tried any of my torque sticks, too valuable.. LOL
