Manual shifter, nearly frozen
Manual Shifter, 90,000 miles, drove like new to almost frozen after sitting 10 days? Has loosened up a little after driving for two days, but still very hard to move the shifter. Any thoughts?

If it's in all the gear throws, I would suspect the shifter itself. Maybe pop the cover around the shifter and spray some lube around the shifter pivot ball.
If it's just 1st-2nd or just 3rd-4th, then it may be one of the two cables is corroded internally.

Left to right movement would be the shifter pivot ball. The cables just move front to back(in/out)with shifter movement.
Have you tried holding up the reverse lockout knob and see if it's easier? If it is, the lockout could be binding.
Dang it! Trying to copy a picture of the shifter from the repair manual. Keeps saying it's too big to post. I need to take a computer course.
