New Continental Extreme Contact DWs being put on tomorrow
First post in a while. Since last summer when I put the new clutch in. I am excited because I am putting new Continental Extreme Contact DWs on tomorrow. This car has had the stock tires that were replaced with the stock tires and now I get to put put what I want on it. From what I hear these tires are fantastic. Has anyone else tried them? It was hard to find a review for this tire on an SS. The car handles well now, with what I have on it, I can only imagine what it will feel like tomorrow.
I still have 225 50 17 on the factory 17's
Great riding tire, when brand new will drive thru standing water like a knife. If you push them hard exiting on interstate cloverleafs they will let you know! The sidewalls are soft i would keep an eye on how the tire rolls on a turn. You may have to up your front tire pressure.

So, you went with the 225/40/18's ? Those spec out to be almost an inch shorter than the stock 225/45/18's.
Just curious as to why you went with the shorter tire.
And, fwiw. Your speedo is going to be off by about 2 mph.

Re-cal the Speedo. I went with them because of less sidewall. Less sidewall, less flex.in the sidewall in hard corners. I live in WV where the cornering is so much fun. I think it just makes sense to go lower profile and I was right. I have thrown this car into corners very hard and no composure loss on these tires. Today it was wet here and they handled superbly.
