Keyless reciever inop.

Hi, Anyone know where the keyless receiver is located. When a scanner is hooked up it says there is no receiver. I want to check wiring and possible replace it. Last of the electrical I need to fix. I fixed the BCM (I thought was bad) only an inexperienced mechanic worked on it. Wrong connector on wrong switch. Thanks, Bob.

If your TPMS is working it is not the RCDLR.
If you just want to play at fixing it, it is under the bump in the headliner by the rear view mirror. If you want help with it provide some info, like why you think it does not work.

Did you check the RDO fuse on the BCM?

Hi, Yes the RDO fuse is good. Looks like someone else was chasing this. Finger prints on headliner. I really like to fix this. I like the car. And yes the TPS is not reading either. I just bought this and have no history. It isn't any fun without the fobs working. Thanks.

If this is a 2008 you may need to go to a dealer to have updated firmware installed.

I had a GM technician tearing my car apart because his tech2 couldn't find the RCDLR.

Ok, So do they need to get directly to the RCDLR or can they go through the OBD connection. Thanks.

There is a chance that yours is not there or broken, but the only way to do anything with a Tech2 is via the OBD2 port.

On my 2008 SS GM has tried everything, each time battery is disconnected all TPMS and remotes in memory are lost. They have replaced module, done upgrades to firmware and it still has to be programmed every summer. The slap in the face is that the memory is still readable because remotes work when in retained power mode, but at no other time.
