Possible Ball Joint for SS?
 

I just saw this.

They say it's for the cobalt and HHR with the LNF engine. The ball joint shaft is 20.5mm diameter.

Yep. Thank you OTTP. I think maybe it showed up on their site in the Summer, finally came in stock September or so? Great option, especially when the full LCA's are out of stock. Usually all you need is the bushings, and the Moog "Problem Solvers" are great for that, but at last! And alternative to buying the entire LCA when all you need is a ball joint.

Anybody tried one of these yet to see what the quality is like?

Great way to firm up the front suspension on your SS and the rear bushings will press into LS/LT aluminium LCA’s, so you could grab a pair in the parts yard then install the bushings and ball joints and put them in your SS .

Oldblue, do you think that the geometry might be different, LS/LT vs SS? The SS seems to be noticeably closer to the ground.

No because the frame bolt goes through the cradle straight up, these ball type rear bushings will articulate much better than the solid rubber bushings. I had the Moog version in Oldblue with lowered front and rear springs, the rubber bushings gave up in less than a year, the Moog bushings lasted much longer. I have that in the 2011 now and have had for almost 4 years

Uh…. It was me. I just bought a set for my 2009 Switchblade SS Panel. I’ve had this unicorn a little over a year now the LCA’s are in sad shape. I came across this thread and saw the link and impulsively grabbed them. I have done little research, just what I’ve gathered here from the forum.. Can anyone reassure me that these are good quality and will be the easiest DIY option for me? I did the math on rebuilding my stock LCA’s and it seems like these are the best choice all around, but I’m a newbie. Thanks!

Quality doesn't really matter, they are the only option. Get the Moog Problem Solver bushings to go with them, they really are different.
