The owners manual does show how, but basically there are just 2 tabs at the top of the glovebox that you ppush in allowing the whole thing to drop. Make sure you take out all of your crap or you'll make a mess

Re: Fram Air filter - after having the Fraim air filter come apart in my Avenger several years ago (the glue between the filter element and the rubber mount came apart) and let unfiltered air in. That, and the lack of interest by Fram to "make things right", I'll never buy another Fram product again. The filter was less than a month old, and I stumbled across the problem while doing other maintanance on the car. I'll stick to the GM oem part thank you. K&N is also tops in my book - run them in several bikes and the Avenger - would like to put one in the HHR but heard some people have been having probs with the car throwing codes with them, so have held off on it.

Called 3 dealers in the area, no air filter. One dealer asked me what did that filter number fit, A3099C $39.00, told him for the HHR SS. He said he has never ordered one yet. Went to Amazon and purchased 2 Wix 49459 for $28.46 each. That's $10.00 less than one from the dealer.

Welcome to the site, the OP hasn't been here since 2013, but thanks for the replacement part number for the SS air filter, the last post in this thread was 2010, so time to close this
