Revs up by itself between shifts?
Huh. Thread opened 4/15/2008. A definitive solution 99 posts and over 16 years later. Gotta be a new record.
So, it seems this issue can be caused by a weak or broken clutch pedal return spring, and/or a sticky mechanism. In any event, the pedal wasn’t fully retracting when released. So simple!
This seems a good place to point out that the spring is discontinued, but a couple of Corvette springs work, maybe a little stiffer, and cheaper. C5? C6? I don’t remember which one(s). Was discussed a couple times in these forums, though.

Well gentlemen: The last few pages got me thinking and I now know the solution to my particular "rev hang" problem. It has been the driver. I have long legs, and the HHRSS clutch travel is relatively long compared to my Corvette. At the 1st to second shift I don't always release the clutch pedal all the way up to the top and that is why it does the "rev hang", the clutch switch isn't made! My wife who primarily drives it never noticed it and I always thought that was odd but oh well. I cannot believe it has been 17 yrs since I first mentioned this, and replaced several parts and now find this. Thanks to the guys who mentioned the clutch spring and switch which got me to thinking of it again and figuring this out.
