Side skirt question?

Hi everybody, brand new SS owner here.
So, I just got my SS two days ago, and I'm tickled with it so far. I lucked out and got a low-mileage, routinely serviced example, but there's one minor nitpick so far.
It appears there's a rubber gasket between the body and the side skirt, and on mine at least, it's protruding in places. Obviously this isn't a major issue, but it is unsightly.
Is this normal? And how do I fix it?

I don't think there's any kind of seal between the skirt and the body. There is a lower rubber door seal that runs just above the skirt. Maybe that is what you are referring to ? Post up a picture of yours and maybe that will show what exactly it is.

See how it's wavy? Is that normal?

Normal ? No. But it does look old and weather beaten.
As stated, it looks like the lower door weatherstrip that has lost it's shape.( It's not part of the skirt)

Possibly it absorbed some detailing product and swelled. Some of the stuff sold to improve the appearance of cars short term do long-term damage (or sooner.) After two or three “incidents” I’ve convinced my wife to, rather than have her car detailed, patiently wait for me to do it, or do it herself (yeah right.) The owners manual is very conservative about what you’re supposed to use.
