SS oil pan
Are you planning on swapping oil pans for some reason, or just doing your 1st oil change on an SS???? In either case you don't need to touch the motor mounts to do an oil change OR to swap out the actual oil pan.

I had a rock about 1.5 in X 3.5 in rectangle shaped get kicked up tumbled and bouncing off the pavement from another car . It went up and under my car and just grazed the oil pan making a small mark . Not even a dent ! Beside the mark it cracked and is leaking . Gm said $500 to repair and won't cover repair - which is understandable . Just got back from Chevy dealer - they looked it up on the computer-2.2 & 2.4 you don't have to lift but 2.0 you do . Boy are those oil pans thin material + cast aluminum !!---Bob
To the OP: I hope you can get this fixed ASAP!Later

The engine only had to be lifted a couple of inches . It took longer to get the air cleaner box and windsheild washer out from under the hood than it took to get the pan off. The dealer wanted close to $500 . Actual costs -$59 for an engine suport (Thankyou Harbor Freight)-$35 at a local hotrod shop for welding + a tube of silicone (no pan gasket) . The plus is being able to keep the suport. The dealer did offer me a low price of $142 for a new pan if I needed one. I at first thought that was still high until I saw what a complicated casting it was.---Bob
Should ahve checked with your ins co.....had a misplaced starter kicked up from a box truck and wound up under my truck...took out the tranny pan, left header and crossover tubes...while they didnt cover 100%... 50% is better then nothing..didnt even question the headers....and got a better tranny pan!
