We are all safer in the rear....just a little hard to drive back there.

When I had the air bag go off it hurt me more than any thing I ever had happen in any accident.

I understand in extreem cases they are good but a low speed deal it cut and burned me up.

The passenger side did not go off.

.

Yes I know they should not be but in Corvettes 370's and other 2 seat cars they have the latch system in the front seat and you are allowed to put car seats in the front seat. Is it the safest probably not but it is legal to do so.

It's not always a kid!!

I travel with my dog in the front seat. She's only 55 lbs but as she moves about on the seat the light is on and off. I would like to disable the airbag function for her. Plus the seatbelt alarm is dinging occasionally

It would involve a manual switch to disable the seatbelt warning light and the passenger side air bag.
As it is a safety feature, it is not legal to alter the airbag system.

It is illegal to disable any part of the air bag system. Read the post above from Chevymgr, post #8. Your dog is not safe in the front seat.

If you don't already have one, get a harness that is rated for auto accidents, and put your dog in the back seat or the cargo area.

I have the harnesses, a "doggie hammock" rear seat protector, and they are tied to the LATCH points, either in the back seat, or the cargo area. I do not want the dogs to be flying around inside the vehicle if there was an accident. That would cause great injury or death for them, as well as anyone else in the car who was struck by the dog.

I'm sure you love your furry friend. Keep your doggie safe.

Great point! I don’t know why a driver with a phone in their hands is a distracted driver, but drivers with dogs on their laps or hanging out a window isn’t distracted driving!
