08 wheels and TPMS on 11 vehicle
I have the opportunity to purchase some reasonably priced wheels from a 2008 car (a Chevrolet Malibu) with the TPMS sensors. I do not yet have the TPMS part numbers. Are these TPMS sensors likely to work with my 2011 HHR? I have the goal of a set of wheels/tires for winter. The price is reasonable only if the TPMS are usable.
Yes, but you will have to 'sync' them to your '11 ( the proceedure is in your owners manual)..
PS: You will need to do this away from the current wheels, as the TPMS gives a radio signal, & the car can't tell if the wheels are still on your car, or stacked next to it..

Sorry sleeper. but 08 was not the first yr, it was only the 1st yr that the federal gov't required them. Europe began to use them in the 1980's. I know the 2002 Impala had them so they have been around for some time. On the Impala it was called "Tire Inflation Monitor"
