I have a 2008 HHR LT Panel with 16" rims. Standard tire size is 215/55/R16. What is the maximum tire height possible? desired to use 26.5" diameter tire.

Go up to the toolbar at the top of this page, click on "TOOLS", choose "tire rim calculator" on the drop down menu.

ricejeep- I have 225/50/17's that were 26.1" Tall (when new), & only had about .200" clearance between the front strut plate & tire..

Your results may vary, depending on tire brand & etc..

I misread the OP. Got it backwards.

215-60X16 just fits.

there are differences from one mfg to another, you have to try one on to see.

For example 235x45x18, should be 1/2" too tall but I'm running them on 2 different HHR's go figure ?

Interesting. I plugged that size into the Discount Tire calculator and it shows the size to be 26.33 inches.
Way back in all those past tire size threads, I thought I recalled 26.3 to be the max. If so, that would be pretty close.

Yea they are close...about the same as Sleepers, I have autocrossed both SS's with them and no little rub like I got when I raced on the 255x40's....I'm about to buy another set of them for my Panel...

That's a different rub...like the cone smudge I had to rub out...I know your supposed to drive around them.....not drag them all the way around the course............
