I just bought a set a few weeks ago for my wagon...235/45/17. They are super sticky tires and perform great on wet roads. Keep in mind that they are not an all season tire though. For those rainy Washington days I think you'll be satisfied. I don't really notice them being much louder than stock. As for dry performance they were a night and day difference over the the factory 215/50/17 firestones.

Usually if a tire is going to be loud, it won't be right away. It usually takes thousands of miles before the tire "breaks in" and the tread gets down to where it will get loud

This isn't necessarily true. Some tread designs are louder out of the box than others. I've ran tires for 50k+ with no difference in the sound from day one to the last day.

Damn $250! That's a deal! I paid $600 for mine. I'm guessing you had some tirerack credit or something.

600.00 is great price. The boy's over a discount tire owe me a favor or two, they have scratched and replaced 3 of my solstice wheels, one more and I have a set for powdercoating. These were mounted for about 20 mins. rubbed on the guy's spring pearch, so they sold them as used, barely, I just happened along on the right day......
