Best looking offset for aftermarket wheels?

Hey all. I am looking for some new 18's and want a wheel that brings the wheel closer to the edge of the fender. My Vette's aftermarket wheels brought it out all the way to the edge and it looks much better. Any suggestions? I've seen anywhere from 35 to 45mm offsets I believe. Thanks!

35mm offset on an 18"x8" will bring you close to the edge of the fender. If you want to go a little wider then grab a set of 5mm spacers to go along with that. They're thin enough to be used with the stock bolts. any thicker and you'll need extended ARP bolts.

Later
Allex

EDIT: forgot to add that tire size can be 235/40/18 or 245/40/18. That's the absolute widest you can go without rubbing. Any wider and you'll need to roll the fenders and get creative/think outside the box!

I mounted a set of F1's 255x40 they fit without rubbing. That tire is an inch wider at the tread than other tires. I would have bought them but the stock 7.5 was too narrow. I'm planning on trying again this time. Would go 19 with 255x35 the height is perfect 26.03, but the money is stiff the way I wear out tires. So i'm going on the budget plan 18x8 giovanii's with 255x40 Gmax by general out the door 12 or 1300, will let you know when I get the test fit done.

Oh yea the question was about offset the Giovanii have 38 you can see what that offset looks like with pedders on "Moon's" SS

what did you mount the 255's on....the stock 18x7.5??? did it rub anywhere??

i have a secret wheel plan that i am not letting anyone in on but it involves a 255x40 but i haven't had the car on a rack to get EXACT strut clearance measurements so with the wheel width and the tire size im not 100% sure it will fit. should be getting it measured this weekend.....aready said revealed too much

how much strut clearance was there and how far to the lip of the fender was it?

7.5, no rub on front , didn't check back, the wheel was too narrow for the tire. 1/16,1 finger

have you found a 8.5" rim?

rear has much more strut clearance than the front...almost double....also there is more wheel to fender gap in the rear so those looking for the correct flush look should run a lower offset in the rear or run a staggered setup.....i don't know if a 5mm spacer would take up the gap or not.

i have found 9 or 9.5 whichever i can fit.........not to be a jerk but im keeping this a secret cause i want to at least be the first if not the only one to do it

if you want wider wheels.....look at what the kappas are using...and it won't be cheap so if inexpensive is what you are looking for it probably won't be for you....we're talkin north of 3k

oh my god i laughed so hard at that

depending on tire choices and a couple other scenarios they may be a little under 3k but tire choice will be the main factor....255/40 isn't a particularly popular tire size especially in the really sticky stuff and i'm almost positive that 265's will rub no matter what offset i choose. so i will just have to see what they say at the shop when i go get it measured. my main reason for the wider tires is a bigger footprint for more grip. yeah i want it to look good too which it will look sick when i get the suspension and those wheels on.
