Changed to an XL tire

2007 LT1 here. I changed to a 215/55R16 97W XL on the recommendation of my tire guy. He said the 97W plus the XL would give me a quieter and softer ride. Figured he was trying to get a little money money out of me but it wasn't much so that's what I went with. 60,000 miles later and I couldn't be happier.

215/55 R16 is the stock tire size. XL means extra load, typicalyl stiffer 2-ply sidewall, 50 psi or so max. All things being equal, stiffer ride, not softer.

I have no idea why I'm getting this typefaxe.
