I don't think you can even get a set of Nexen N3000's in a 225/45 18 for $400. That said, I've seen some of those "off" brands on craigslist calling for $90 a piece installed. NOw if this due to funds now, you gotta do what you gotta do. But in about 20K miles, you'll be looking again. Possible to just replace 2 for now? Or are all 4 that bad?

If you're short on funds, sell the 18" SS rims and get some 17's. Then tires will be cheaper too.

On the replace 2 now front, I am holding that out as a last ditch nothing else is working thing. Right now I'm at .06 and .07 inches on my right side and .09 on both my lefts. (that's about 2/32 on the rights and 3/32 on the lefts)

Fuzion doesn't make a 225/45

I'm basically just trying to buy a year at this point, which is 20k-30k, and the only reason I'm even considering anything but nice new name brand tires. I'm still holding out hope for a decent set of used name brands, but failing that I'm trying to prepare backup options like the set of Sunnys. At $450 if they can get me around a year of decent tread, I'd be happy with that.

Problem solved. I have been watching ebay, which generally doesn't have much for good tire deals, but, like craigslist, you never know.

Got a set of 4 Falken ZIEX 235/40/18 ZE912 tires for $375 shipped with 9/32 tread left direct from Discount Tire. Still need to have them mounted, and I end up going just a bit over budget including that, but at least I have what should be decent tires on the way.

I have those same tires and, while they are quieter, I sure do miss the Exclaim UHP I had before. I just don't like the way these handle.
