I got the wheel put on about a week ago and there have been no issues. I put the wheel on to check the fit before having it balanced and it fit as it should. The car runs smoothly at all speeds. Thanks for the help.

Glad it worked out, but just to avoid confusion in case someone uses this thread in the future, if you had 17” 5-spoke steelies, I don’t think those came with your car or any HHR. Likely a prior owner upgraded, perhaps with wheels from a 2008-2012 Malibu.

My 2011 1LT had 16 inch 5-spoke steelies. I think 16 is PulpFriction's point, the 17 inch on 2LT were alloy.

My 2011 2LT has the chrome plastic hubcap glued to the Pontiac G6 aluminum wheel underneath, so it’s possible that the 2009 HHR had the 5 spokes but 16”
Pontiac was discontinued in 2009, so 2010 and 2011 used up the G6 17” rims.

Note 16 “ steel wheels for 2009, same for 2010 and 2011 even 2007 and up.

I thought those were 16”, not 17”.

That’s why I posted the links, they all indicate metal 5 spoke rims are 16”

But most had 20 hole steel rims hidden under the wheel cover. The wheel covers are not interchangeable. I found it very difficult (impossible) to get 5 spoke steelies, 20 hole are plentiful.
