SCCA Rally Cross Suggested Tires
If anyone out there is familiar with SCCA Rally Cross dirt racing, would you be kind enough to suggest a competitive brand and style of tire. Thank you in advance.

Oh Lord...
I would seriously suggest you stick to communities that do this with FWD vehicles. I have a couple friends who do this in a VW Golf and an old Neon, and others who only do Subies or AWD trucks. My guess is that tires don't matter anywhere NEAR what they do in autocross. Put your money into a skid plate so you can drive her home. And, always keep working on the nut behind the wheel... |
Thank you Blue for responding...very cool. I had to laugh about the 'nut behind the wheel'...I had not heard that in years. I had about 12 years of running SCCA at Morosso's and Sebring in a sb Saturn coupe...but I'm much older now and the slower reaction would get me in trouble running side by side with competitors. I decided to try this type of racing to get my kicks. So I finally decided on these:http://195/65R15 91Q FEDERAL G-10 Gravel Rally Tire

Nice aggressive thread! My DIRT experience was of the NE seaboard kind, I crewed on the 444. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...6cf56aeee.jpeg |
Rayal or is Rahal ?
I'm guessing your HHR is a manual, being it has LSD. What are you doing to the suspension ? I found this and it looks like a type of tire that would work. You be the judge. |
Glad you enjoyed it. But this really is not a hotbed of info for any kind of motorsports, except maybe drag racing. That was my point.
I wish you well! |
