You have an excellent idea there foolmoon_design, and after poking around and searching myself I've found a death of info on drag tires for the HHR.

So its time for those of you who run your HHR's either on the 1/8 mile or the 1/4 mile to speak up with tire info, what sizes do you run, what brands like Nitto or M/H, and what rims are you using?

 

I have had good luck with the Mickey Thompson et street on stock wheels 245-40-18. as well as the Hoosier drag radial on the Saturn ion 17 inch wheels. 245-45-17

Now does anyone have some info or insight on the Nitto 555R tires and sizes that work best on the HHR?

 

I did try a set of nitto 555R Drag radials. And they were pretty much useless.
I tried them in a 245-45-17 on an ion wheel.

My best tire i have liked the most was the Micky Thompsons. Also not sure if this applies to the manual guys, but my auto actually liked running more pressure on the tire. vs. the lower pressure. I think it likes the stiffer side wall. to keep the wait transfer to a minimum. However I do have a stock suspension.

I ran the mt 3780s also! Love them
Nitto 555r never tried nothing fit 18s

 

I run the same tires/wheels I ran on my old Cobalt setup.

Hoosier QTP 26"x9.5"x16" bias ply slick w/ tubes.

I have them mounted on a cheap 16" steel wheel from Tire Rack. Guess I should be glad the 08's didn't have Brembos.

I don't have any pictures of them on the HHR yet.
