Slotted Mags

I am the proud owner of a 2008 HHR 1LT. I have not had it a month yet, and I love that car. Slotted mags would look great, but I have not found any sources. Everyone has gone spokes crazy. Am I missing a company?

Mooneyes has the Speed Master wheels....... Slotted, but maybe not what you had in mind.

Are you talking about this type? I have these on my Stingray Corvette.

Slotted Mags

The Speedmasters are the closest available so far, but they are sort of odd looking. I may end up going with them.

The American Racing/Ansen pictured, is exactly what I want. They don't deal with HHR sized wheels...yet. I wish that would change.

I did run across a Japanese company, that makes something similar, but only 20 percent of their business is with the US. Not sure I can trust them, and I lost track of the link.

These old school slotted wheels, as well as the old gray 5 spoke mags, are usually a deep dish design, and have never been made for FWD cars as the offsets are opposite of what is required, the hub is toward the inside of the wheel, and FWD requires the hub near the outside.

Moon "SpeedMasters" are a sort-of Halibrand look. I have them on my "08 Panel with a set of custom made "moon tank cap" knockoffs. They come in 7"x17" size only.

Diskullman, you have clearly explained why I am out of luck. That "deep dish" look is what I was after. Things have changed since the '70s.

The Mooneyes will have to be my choice. Thanks for all the replies!

greybeard999, I just noticed the other part of your reply. Those Wheel Vintiques look the part, especially the one in the center. I will be checking out their products. Thanks a bunch.

Finale: I went with Wheel Vintiques HHR chrome rallye, and 225/55R16 Continental DWS. Looks great, the slightly larger tire diameter corrected my speedometer accuracy, but I lost at least 3 MPG in fuel efficiency. It was worth it.

So far, the Contis have very good traction in all conditions.
