SS tire choices.

SS tire choices.
I'm in the market for new tires for the SS. I've pretty much narrowed my choices down to Continental ExtremeContact DWS, or General Gmax AS-03. Anybody have experience with either of these?
I'm also looking to go to a wider tire, either a 235/45/18, or 245/40/18. Who has ran wider than stock tires on stock SS wheels? Thanks

Did you run the 255x40 on stock wheels? I had debated that as the diameter is the same as 225x45, but was concerned about the tire being too wide for the rim. I'd really like as much tire as possible in both width and sidewall.

No I had 8" wheels. I believe the Gmax 03 would do it on the stock wheel, they run narrow. I have put 235x45 pilot A/s2's on the stock wheel. After running 255, and 245 tires on both the SS and the 2LT, I prefer the 235 seems to work the best.
235x45 on 7.5...plenty wide.

I recently purchased Yokohama YK580 for my SS from discount tire
really like it so far, good ride quality, good traction and seem to be holding up well. I have about 10k on them since buying and last rotation all looked real good and wearing good too! The main reason I chose these is they carry a 45000 mile warranty where most will be 30-40k. with the incentives I think I paid about $100 for each. they have a "W" speed rating, and 95 wall so very close to factory Michellin. I know one thing typically missed in buying tires is the side wall strength, it is important!

You don't happen to have any photos handy from when you had the Gmax installed do you? I'm trying to get an idea of how much sidewall bulge I'd have with a wheel .5 inch narrower. Was there quite a bit of bulge on an 8 inch wheel?
