I know the rims need some work, but it is a daily driver, about 500 miles a week...

Nice! I wonder it those wheels would look either
A: gunmetal metallic?
B: matching body colour?
C: metallic silver?

the possibilities are endless, just sand them to get the scrapes and scratches feathered out .

Or the tedious job of sanding, polishing the aluminium to a brite finish.

well, they didn't last long. driving home tonight I noticed a slight vibration, the inside edge of both front tires is worn past the the belts in the tires. Outer 95% look OK. rear are still like new. guess i need to find an alignment shop. Sway bar links were replaced as were the Lower Control arms on both sides. Shocks?? Guess I will be buying a pair of tires in the morning as the ones on there don't look safe.

A problem that I experienced from replacing LCAs is a set I put on Altered the camber enough that my eye could tell. Close to a full degree. I believe that some of the castings are a little bit longer than they should be. The only way to adjust the camber is to add a camber kit, there is no factory installed adjustment. The only adjustment that can be made on a stock HHR front end is toe.
Sway bar does not affect alignment.

so I am looking at replacing the LCa's with a better quality one?? I did get a cheaper one which in the not so long run was more expensive....

a closer look at the Amazon listing and there is a comment about them being too long and unable to adjust camber. Guess I will go with Rockauto Moog ones.

You could get the alignment checked, some shops will do it for free.

Did you get aluminum LCAs, or steel?

The camber kits are not too expensive, if you shop. I have seen the price range between $5 and $90 for the identical parts. It is an offset bolt with a off-center washers.

They look like this:

the original ones on the car were aluminum, I used aluminum replacements, and the ones coming from Rockauto are Moog aluminum ones.

these are what is on right now, until the replacement Moogs arrive.

Wow, for that price on Amazon, you could have had the GM Genuine from rockauto.com.

NM, I see now that the Amazon listing is for the pair.
