waited just a bit too long...
Just got back from the alignment place. toe was fine, until they put some weight in the car.... Lets say I am a big guy so I asked them if it needed to be compensated for that. Since it did make a difference, am I looking at new springs?? Just a thought as the shocks are pretty old and corroded. they seem to be OK but just looking the be preventative. opinions??
If toe is going off from weight in the car, perhaps new quick struts are in order. Moog or KYB are good quality, remember you get what you pay for!

Shocks and struts are not as easy to sell anymore so they don't even inspect them. Used to be oil would leak out and be an obvious sign plus they were cheap. Now the effort to sell isn't worth the profit. I guarantee if you have more than 75,000 miles on them you will feel a huge difference with a change. Personally, I change rear springs after 150,000.
It had more than 75,000 on it before I bought it. and even more than 150,000 shortly thereafter. rear springs looked like they have been replaced when I was under there repairing the leaking fuel line.
Front struts look pretty old and rusty on the tops and I'd go with a full loaded strut for a replacement.

after a couple hundred miles, the 'feathered' tires seem to hav evened out and now feel flat across the tread. I am suprised they evened out that quickly. No doubt the overall miles is reduced but I guess I will live with that.
The only change is the alignment using weight in the front seat, similar to when I am driving in it. Not sure if the next change will be struts or brake/rotors as they have a touch of vibration when hard braking. sorry no G forces when I drive. too many cops know who I am already!!
