what snow tires do you run your HHR

General altimax Arctic snow tires. Look them up on tire rack. Very highly rated. Fairly inexpensive but worked great for me last year. You can get them with or without studs (mine are without). I just put mine back on this weekend and had no problems in the snow yesterday. Should be able to get at least 4-5 seasons at about 10-12k per year on them.

this vehicle is like driving a Camaro in the snow. When it snows I drive my 4 x 4 truck until they get the roads cleared off. To light in the front end and only one wheel spinning makes no traction at all. And forget it on ice. A manual is the way to go but still it is to light in the front end to get traction.

on the back end of my 2000 S10 pick up. No Extra weight
except news papers on Sunday's and they were great.

Here in the NE Ohio snow belt I use Goodyear Triple Treds and never had one issue.
With the SS and these tires the car never puts a tire out of place. To be honest it is a bore to drive in the snow as you can't really slide it around at all.
The Wear on the Assurance tires is outstanding and also they are the best water tire I have ever owned.
Whole some may feel better with winter only tires the Triple Treds are all you really need if you have basic winter driving skills.
I do see the winter tires may have more advantage if you have more ice or very cold temps where the snow turns to ice on the roads. The softer tires help there but in most snow conditions in most areas snow tires are not a must have with this car.
I have also used them on my GTP Comp G and the wife has never had an issue either.

I also like my Blizzaks. I have a 205-60 16 which is a little narrower than stock but they were also cheaper ( maybe Focus size) used them last year and really liked them. We used Blizzaks on our Fieros and they were fantastic. Almost time to have them put on for the coming winter.
