Many have gone with 18’s , I was concerned about a firmer ride, but @ 32 psi, no rougher ride then my 17’s @35 psi

I like 18s from the ss, but would get em powder coated. I thought about 20s, but afraid ride would be rough.

A former member / friend went to 20's & I asked him about them. He stated emphatically, the ride is terrible & the tires rub etc. He said he only did it for the shows.

These are my factory optional 17"s, polished / forged alloys. And before I swapped to the chrome extended lug nuts.

I read that somewhere on here to. 20 for shows, 18s for comfort. On the search this weekend, I'm sure everyone who bought rims with that stimulus will be selling them soon....

Maybe. I just don't like the rubber band sidewall look. So good tires for my 17"s cost enough..

I had 18" on my SS, sold them off and put on 17" for better riding comfort.
You can get 17" tires that have firmer sidewalls if you like.
It's called load rating.

Tire/wheel choice is a very personal issue. Considering the appearance to function spectrum, I land way out on the function side. I put 215-60 winter tires on mine. When I wear out the 55's I'll probably do the same with summer replacements. 55 to 60 is almost a 10 percent improvement in cushioning. You can probably tell, I don't push the performance envelope.
