I just got a 2009 and the previous owner put these 215/50-17 tires that makes it look like it slightly lowered the car and the ride sucks.
The struts were not in the best shape even before I hit a couple of really nasty pot holes on the freeway and every bump I hit now clunks hard so they are shot.
Two of the pot holes had me thinking the strut should have been ripped off and the air bag warning light even came on!
I'd also like thicker, wider tires, something that can take abuse.
I wish there was a slightly taller strut and wheel combo available for a somewhat off an road look.
Many years ago I had a 2 door Diahatsu Charade that was pretty much maxed out with 2 full sized American adults in it.
I swapped in the struts off the 4 door model and the ride went from bottoming out on every bump with 4 adults in the car to riding like a full sized American car, even with a full load and plenty of room for bigger tires!

Welcome-

If your vehicle came with 17" rims, then the 215/50/17 tires are stock size. Your drivers door panel would tell you the correct size for sure.

My '08 Panel came with them, I up-graded to 225/50/17. You can't put too tall of a tire on it because the front spring perch is the limiting thing.
Bout 26.2" tall is about max in tire height.

215/50R17 Tires - TireSize.com

https://tiresize.com/tiresizes/215-50R17.htm215/50R17 tires have a diameter of 25.5", a section width of 8.5", and a wheel diameter of 17". The circumference is 80.0" and they have 792 revolutions per mile. Generally they are approved to be mounted on 6-7.5

16's are an option. Last time I was at the local pick and pull there was a set of Alloy rims available. I found a set of steel16's with 60 series tires on Craigslist so I can leave my winter tires mounted. Have fun, I was able to get a 65 series winter tire with no fit issues.

Bill- That tire diameter depends on the brand. I have 225/50/17"ers that are 26.1" tall, made by Sumitomo.. So can't really make a blanket statement as such. That do vary by brands.

I was trying to help, the quote posted was what a google search turned up. But google also shows Amizon ahead of Ebay when Ebay is the search term. I think I can figure that one out.

Size matters,

https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire...0R17/225-50R17

you would have to determine the size for the brand and model tire you are interested in.
