Wheels and tires

Does anyone know why 16x7.5 rims seem to make a rubbing squicky sound on my 2011 LS? I removed them and put my orginal tires back on. TireRack stated that they should fit and are investigating. I thought I would run past you guys.....Thanks

What size tires are you running? That is the stock size wheel for the SS, but w-i-d-e tires might rub the strut.

Wider than stock, or taller than stock, anything with an O.D. over 26" can rub the inner sidewall on the lower spring perches.

Post up your tire size when you get a chance.

Tire size is stock 215/55R-16 Fuzion Touring . The only difference is the rims. Stock is 7 wide and the new ones are 7.5.

What sort of offset are you running on the rims, the stock offset is 42mm. If the new rims have too much positive offset you'll get rubbing.

Where exactly are they rubbing, on the inner sidewalls, or are they hitting the inner fenders.

I'm running 16x7.5's with 215/55/16 tires, same offset, and they just barely touch the inner fenders at full lock. Turning into the parking garage here in DC, they always give a little "graunch", but that's it.

I don't really know where they rub, the sound of metal made me remove them immediately. Tire Rack stated they would work, that means to me there should be NO problems with any kind of scrapping?

Put some chalk on the inside sidewall and the inside tread bar and drive it in a way you know it will rub.
