Who's had the biggest tires?

Okay, so some of you may scoff at me a touch but I'm wondering who's run oversized tires and how big you've gone. I know it probably seems crazy but the old girl has been extremely good to me but she's startin to lose her luster and she's turning into a work ride. My ride to work is a bit sketchy most days and I'm lookin to bump it up to an A/T Tire kind of a more aggressive truck tire. Like I said, crazy but, it gets fairly swampy in the yard and I tend to end up floating the nose with my 5-speed.

Some of us have 255 x 40 thats about all that will fit in the front. I fixin to try some 265x40 on the rear, will let you know if any trimming is required.

He doesn't have a SS, so he's running 16" wheels with a 1LT, not 18". I don't remember the stock size, but it's probably something like 215/60's?

Whatever you do, don't stray too far above the overall diameter of your original tires. Otherwise, you will have speedometer error and may start running into suspension component interference. Do some checks on the internet - there's tire size comparison calculators out there hat give you all the info.

Problem is, these aren't pickup trucks that you can just throw bigger tires on.
Anything over about 26.2" tall on the HHR is gonna hit the strut perch. In a nutshell, "It's gonna rub".

Actually, I am on 18's. I understand all the potential for speedo error but I'm not looking to go Jacked up with thornbirds or Super-Swampers. I'm just looking to see if we have potential to go to a more aggressive tire even if I have to jump it up a touch.

I don't know of any A/T tires in a size that would fit an HHR.
