HHR SS vs. Fox Body 5.0

well this past Saturday I had the night away from the woman..... yup time to take the wagon out to play with some locals at a local car hang out that a few years ago was popular but now is lucky to have 10, the car scene in mid-Delaware sucks now. but anywho, there was a guy i knew with his fox body mustang, he recently added some things and was looking to run, he said it's a 13.30s 1/4 mile car now but hasn't taken it to the track in a long time. i decided to step up and see what my little wagon can do.

my wagon..... gms1, k&n filter, zzp hot side charge pipe, werks street intercooler, cia catless downpipe & custom HPTuners from M-Dub :D

the mustang.... heads, cam, full exhaust including longtubes, some fueling mods, drag radials & stripped out interior

we did 2 races...... a dig & 40 roll.

from a dig he of course got the launch on me, i honestly babied it out of the hole, but he jumped to an almost 2 car gap between my front and his rear. i slammed 2nd, stayed the same, then into 3rd i gained a car and then got 4th i started creeping up..... then we cut it down. good run.

from a roll.... in 2nd gear, we punched it. i spun a good bit, he got about a 1/2 car on me. slammed 3rd, easily got that 1/2 car back and started pulling past him. once i got into 4th i started to walk away, put about 1.5 cars on him. another good run.

OK, way to go! These babies have plenty of pull to keep going way after 100, it's like you were still driving at 50. And I gues you told the woman you were going out to Home Depot........................!

I've been arguing the HHR SS is a match for any but the Latest Mustang GTs in stock form on another site I've been on for about 15 years.

I love folks being passionate about their car and the hobby in general, but name calling get's you beat one way or another in real life.

I beat a fox body with my 1988 Fleetwood Brougham... the whole five-o stigma is built on a heap of ****.

Nice story Rally! The stockers don't stand a chance, even some of the newer ones. But built and shoed, yeah your toast. What I love/hate about Mustangs(former owner) is they are like legos, or tinker toys, and you can walk into a performance shop and buy stuff right off the shelf, unlike our toys. There is also too damn many of them at the stop lights, interstates, and unfortunately/fortunately the track. It pisses me off, except the ones running chevy motors. Nah, I really don't care for those either.
