SS Auto vs AMG C63

So coming home the other night stopped in the right hand of two left turn lanes I see the 63 logo on the side of the black Merc next to me and think "DAMN!" nice car. The light turns green and we start to go, then he nails it. What a beautiful sound coming out of that 6.3 litre V8!!! As he takes off I think "not so fast young man" and nail it. Of course he put power (and lots of it) to the ground much better than my auto SS with Stage 1 but he's not exactly walking away either. Then we come to a stop sign and he hangs a right and nails it again. I do a rolling stop, turn and gas it. My tires light up and I'm off! I'm sure at this point he's thinking WTF?!?! I wish it had been day light so I could have seen his wide eyes in the mirror. Then he turned right and I went left. As my brother put it: "Nice to hear you made him sweat". He lived in Germany understands what AMG means and rightfully respects my little red car.

These little station wagons are fun I had a similar deal with a nice black cobra I know he was thinking what would I say if this station wagon beats me, it was close I was laughing hard at the poor dude ??

the C63 uses a big 6.2-liter V8. The C63's powerplant is good for 443 lb-ft of torque and 451 horsepower. The torque curve of the engine is just as impressive as its output: from 2000 to 6250 rpm the driver always has more than 360 pound-feet on tap - ideal for powerful acceleration in any engine speed range.

The sprint to 62 mph takes a scant 4.5 seconds according to Mercedes -- and that's likely a conservative estimate: real world acceleration is typically even quicker than claimed times.

Maximum torque of 443 pound-feet comes at 5000 rpm. The torque curve is equally impressive: from 2000 to 6250 rpm the driver always has more than 360 pound-feet on tap -- ideal for powerful acceleration in any engine speed range.

So how far ahead was he??

something tells me the driver of the C63 wasn't trying to "race" you and was just trying to hurry home or hear his amazing car....... because if he was, you'd see nothing but tail lights in the distance. cool story bro.

Not as far as he though he should be I'm sure. The two runs were short and he got to hit it first both times. Yes, in the long run he would have just kept on marching away but if we started side by side and I hooked up early the first 1/8 mile would be quite exciting...for me...:D

Yes, "race" was the farthest thing from my mind. The little Angel on my left shoulder said "remain calm and save your gas", the Devil on the right said "what are you waiting for?!?!". I believe that is called giving in to temptation and of course it felt sooooo good.

I hate to say it but he was most likely toying with you and conserving gas himself

No, he was on it. You can tell full from half throttle he just didn't have enough room to really stretch his legs. He may do 0-60 in 4.5 and me in 5.5 but in a 5 second run I can still read your bumper stickers...

Whats all done to your car?? Just stage 1?

Cus if so that would mean im faster than that ride and thats not the case

Either way good run man
