Stiglitz vs TrailBlazer LT

This was a red light dropped race. I had been sitting there teasing my g/f with how my HHR sounded, because she loves the sound. Well, the guy next to me thought I was revving at him. I had glanced over at the vehicle, then driver, and he gave me the "let's go" look. Looked back, to the light dropping. Launched, and had him all the way.

From what I could see this was a stock TrailBlazer 2LT V6. Every power option under the sun I'm guessing, but a decent driver. Hahaha

TB with a V6?

djr1973 12-22-2010 09:24 AM

I dont know, I would have to see it, lol. Trailblazer with a 4.2 Liter V6 is 275 horse, thats almost double of what your 2.2 Liter has, lol. I think if the guy was really trying to race ya he would have whipped your ass, lol. JMO

My father drives an 04 TB with the I-6 and I actually raced him when I first got my SS.....it hung suprisingly well with the SS. Powerband that feels more like a BMW where it comes alive over 4000 rpms. Posted 0-60 for the I-6 TB's is anywhere from 7.4-8.2 seconds....that's not too shabby. Now the EXT versions are heavy pigs and post 10+ sec. 0-60.

SmootHHR 12-22-2010 10:10 AM

so an I6 TB "hung surprisingly well" with an SS, which a 2.2 will not do...

LawDog88 12-22-2010 10:11 AM

Lol JonBoy. Nice to know. I'll have to time my 0-60 one day. But I swear he was trying but was lagging behind.

LawDog88 12-22-2010 10:12 AM

He could have been in need of a tune up. Maybe that's why he lost?

843de 12-22-2010 11:36 AM

Every vehicle is different, every engine is different, every driver is different. Now that's out of the way, right on 1151! I can't see why a 2.2 can't take a tubby TB off the line at will. The I-6 in the TB's is nice and smooth but I've never been that impressed with it and they kinda sound like a tractor when revved. Now if you'll 'scuse me, there are riceboy Acura's that need taught a lesson out there, and Paddy is feelin' grumpy today.

By hung suprisingly well I mean I got a good jump on it, then he paced pretty consistent to interstate speeds, but over about 70 started to walk him pretty bad. I never expected to see it stay with me in the 20-70 range.

Obviously this was pre-mods so it would be a full out arse-whoopin' now:twothumbs:

LawDog88 12-22-2010 12:05 PM

LOL 843, I'm sorry to keep you from whoopin ass with Paddy. But, none the less, he was trying but was sluggish. I could hear him trying, and very well may not have had a lot of traction. But none the less, 3-0
