I see a group of the California owners getting together, it seems on a routine basis. Has anyone from the Great Northwest thought about doing the same, or am I missing a previous thread?

Anywhere in Washington or Oregon would be great.

I think anywhere on the coast line would be pretty cool. Like Astoria or anywhere off HWY 101

Go on a weeks vacation and all kinds of things pop up. I think anywhere in the NW would work. Another chance for a ROAD TRIP. I live in Eugene and can pretty much go anywhere.:D

CLEANED UP VERSION OF EARLIER POST :red:

If the 7th is the first SAT in OCT... Yes didn't want to have to look at calander... Joan & I are retired so we don't much care about dates and times

I picked Arlington because...

It is just a few miles off of I5

I thought that HHR owners between the greater VANCOUR area (Canada) and SeaTac area might try to make it

The Burger King there is a regular hangout for local area car clubs... so if no HHRs show up there might be some other cool cars there

If just a few people show up then the BK parking lot is big enough... if thousands (LOL) show, then the safeway across the street might be able to handle the overflow.

Anacortes is only about an hour drive for us

Ihe individual that has to drive 5 hours... I don't know that I would drive that far for a whopper either... but last month Joan, Sunny and I drove 1500 miles to see some really cool cars (and Jan and Dean)... I tell you what... you pick the next date and place and Joan, Sunny and I will make every effort to be there as long as I don't have to eat oysters.

As far as the "FIRST POST"... have belonged to serveral clubs and organizations over the yeara and have found... "IF YOUR NOT PART OF THE CURE... YOUR PART OF THE PROBLEM". beside I like most car people.

"THE CARS BRING US TOGETHER... THE PEOPLE KEEP US COMING BACK" :thumb:

I don't like oysters either. ;) , I would make the drive... but the ol' ball and chain isn't to fawn of the idea of meeting a bunch of strangers and talk about cars.

After some changes are made at my place of work. I will probably be able to make sometime. (co-worker is going on maternity leave, I HAVE to cover her shift, 4:45am to 1:30pm )

Arlington BK get together... is still on. Joan... Sunny and I will be there. Not sure how many will show. if people show then we might talk about other get togethers... a St Helen run next spring is running through my little pea brain right now. maybe someone else might want to set a date and place. farther south? farther north? somewhere in the middle... I said before I picked Arlington because it was close to me. All you have to do is post a place and see if they come. :thumb:

The Whidbey Cruzers are getting together at 5:30 at the PUB if you might be interested let me know at BK... have to call ahead with a head count.

Hi Chuck and John

May 18th/2007 falls on a Friday... I am thinking SAT the 19th would be a good day for the St Hellen RUN. That way people travelling any dist could travel Fri afternoon/evening and return Sat evening and Sunday. Being the anniversary date... might be quite busy... so those staying overnite may have to commit early.

Information the we need to gather
1... distance from I5 to St Helen
2... cruzin time from Seattle to SH
3... cruzin time from Portland to SH
4... cruzin time from I5 to SH
5... I5 services... hotels/motels and eateries

MOST of the above stuff can be found in MS Streets/Maps... but personal input is GOOD TOO.

We can do this like the Arlinton BK... NO HOST... MEET AND INTRODUCE WHEN WE ARRIVE or start gathering a list.. alot of thing can change between now and then

Seeing the that we are the THREE... is the 19th good? If so then I will start a NEW THREAD.

ALSO HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON A DATE FOR FEDERAL WAY? JAN... FEB???:one:

ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A "SSR" THAT LISTENING IN ON THIS THREAD THAT MAY LIKE TO CRUZE WITH SOME "HHRs"???

ANOTHER NOTE... THIS NOT JUST A GUY THING... JOAN COULD HAVE USED SOME FEMALE COMPANY...

A JOURNEY OF A 1000 MILES BEGANS WITH FIRST STEP.

JOHN... thnx for the call... just been really busy... about the first time on the computer since last weekend... thanks for the pix... do we want to share on this thread?

MY "REDRYDER" plates were in the mail box when we got home after Arl BK... Go figure.

Z-Man if you are listening in... thx for the nice comments about our webpage... started it a few years ago before a class reunion. thnx again;)

LET US SEE IF THIS BOAT FLOATS... CHUCK... JOHN... GJ&S

pixs... Sure... we never got a picture of you:red:

Found the St Helens web page today... lots of good info including mileage and travel times from various places including Seattle and Portland... JS&I might run down to the hwy 505 just to confirm some of the restraunts and lodging in the area. kinda think most will do it all in one day.

Joan and I were thinking about some parking lot car games that we had done in the past. don't want to say much about them here... once we remember more of the rules we'll explain to you and John when we meet again.

should I START A NEW THREAD???

Since "RedFlyr" decided to flame us and call us flakes due to St. Helen's ride. I really don't care for the HHR forum anymore. I originally thought this was a nice place for HHR members... In the Spring of 2008 I am going to trade my HHR in for a Nissan Titan.

Actually I let my subscription to Chevy HHR laps for a year or so and just saw this post. I apologize to Johnc, Chuck and Tinker.

:nono: GhstRydr - You are not going to drop that on me.

A lot of people talked about g2gs including you but no one wanted to really set one up.

Remember my very first post was a g2g at the Arlington BK, Jon and Chuck were the only ones to show. You complained that the five hour drive was a long drive for a burger. Others tried to initiate get-to-g ethers 'g2g'... cruises... BBQs... All Chevy Shows, dealer shows, etc... the same ones showed up each time.

The first g2g was Oct 06 in Arlington, WA... you and others complained that it was to far from SeaTac and way to far (you said five hours from OR. Someone suggested that we g2g at a burger joint in Seattle... no interest.

I spent seven months trying to set up the first MSHR. Which seemed to me the halfway point.

This was an EIGHT-hour drive for JS&Me, plus an over night stay so that we would be there to greet any one that showed up early. We were not expecting hundreds, maybe three or four. Do you have any idea how much of a let down it was after all that effort and supposed interest... Chuck was the only person to show up that morning. I think he had a great time... JS&Me really appreciated his company.

So GhstRydr... you spend months trying to put something together... end up with the same results and see if you are not a bit miffed.

What should I have done… say oh well and start MSHR two. Sorry your turn.

Besides... the word I used was 'weanies (not flakes) which I misspelled. It should have been:

Adj. 1. weeny - (used informally) very small; "a wee tot" bittie, bitty, itsy-bitsy, itty-bitty, teensy, teensy-weensy, teentsy, teeny, teeny-weeny, wee, weensycolloquialism - a colloquial expression; characteristic of spoken or written communication that seeks to imitate informal speechlittle, small - limited or below average in number or quantity or magnitude or extent; "a little dining room"; "a little house"; "a small car"; "a little (or small) group"

I haven’t decided to sell off our HHR because I was disappointed nor would I because of something some said. I like our HHR. I still greet and try to recruit HHRs here in OH. I hope that some day there is enough interest in the NW to actually do things besides talk about what we would like to do. . For now JS&Me will continue to hang out with our Whidbey Cruzers, go to shows and park our HHR with the PT Cruisers at car shows until the HHRs start showing up.

I did quit HHRClub.org because one individual there said that he started arguments for the sake of conversations…

If you want to sell your HHR and quit the forum, find a different reason.

Count me in on the next g2g in WA. It would be nice to pack a ferry to Bainbridge and cruise to Port Angeles or all the way out to Neah Bay this summer.
