I've found the radio in the family truckster to be easily sufficient. I've the upgraded 7 speaker pioneer and it's got to be one of the better (the best?) "stock" systems I've owned.

My stock system is not as loud as I want it to be, but I can deal with it til X-Mas and ask for a new one (hopefully with navi).

I have had no problems with the volume on my stock Stereo.

It can pump out the bagpipe music loud enough for the boom-box cars to hear too! Love to share my music from the other side of the audio spectrum!

stock radio

The settings are all set to the best sound i can get. I previously had a 1990 chevy 2500 and a 2000 s-10 they didnt have the bass the hhr has but, the actual sound was louder for my rock and roll and country music.
