If its a printed wrap the "wood" look is easily removable. Sadly the porthole not so much.

Anyone in Dallas want to go get some better pics?

Subtract porthole window, add wood down sides of hood and along the side where porthole is, and it would be much better.

Custom Panel

Hey Guys!
When I first starting looking at HHRs around 6 months ago, this vehicle was the first one I drove, here in Arlington, TX. He has a classic car company trying to sell it then. The wood panel wrap is pretty weathered and would have to be removed. The guy also put a wood trim kit (decals) all over his dash and console and done very poorly. The guy used it to show a line of beach shirts at car shows. The seats are pretty nice....he had them redone similar to a SS interior. The "roll-out" wood deck in back is a joke. The vehicle itself is in pretty good condition and the guy did take care of it. He has been trying to sell it for a long time. Of course, it is way too "custom" or personalized for most people like it is. He would have taken $10K for it 6 months ago! But I really didn't care for it. If the price was a lot lower and someone wanted to completely redo it, it wouldn't be a bad deal. That's my cents worth!

woody wrap

I saw this panel at a local car swap meet about a year ago, talked to the owner he was a vender selling car themed Hawaii shirts. He told me a local sign shop did the wrap for him at a cost of about $1500. The detail on the wrap was very good and covered the tailgate too. I agree the "pinto window" looks terrible and would look better with woodgrain in that area.

Back in the day some dealers sold special edition HHR's with the portholes. I think it defeats the purpose of a panel. It does not look right and the placement of that one is wrong.

Had an idea. Remove the wrap and paint or re wrap black and add 5% limo tint to the porthole ..... I'd go 6Gs on it due to the work involved

Try to think of it this way: It's like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree - just needs some love and attention is all.

I agree. Remove a few things and it'll look a little less like one of Joan Rivers' facelifts.
