ITS still lives lol ,,,, traded it back!
funny how things work , its been gone awhile and came up for sale and the owner called me and asked if i wanted to buy it back or do some trading so trading we did and the fun begins again ,,,,, maybe time to change some things and give it a new look will c but for now just clean it up and drive it still turns heads and gets folks asking ,,,,,, and yes its still in one piece and doing great ,, take care dave ,,

Is the frame reinforced? The roof and sides are a major part of the frame. In fact the side panels are called "uni panels.

Is that the roof in the back seat...that must be hideous. The pick up coversions are cool but I wouldn't own one unless it had the correct structural integrity.

no its a car cover covering the seats , i bet your fine rapping your self in a rat rod with a v-8 no air bag or seat belts and no integrity , if this is just gona be a bash thread please close it was not looking for b/s ,, just showing that it still lives in one piece and yes it has integrity ,, thanks dave its just a summer ride not a race car ,

Ok, now let's play nice ! I saw this on eBay awhile ago when I was looking for my HHR !
A neat ride for sure!
I'm pretty sure my '23 T bucket had much less integrity but was a blast to drive!!
One summer when I had the rental company, a guy came in to rent a sawzall and an extension cord! He was back 20 minutes later, I asked was there something wrong, he said nope! He just had to lop the roof off his 79 Malibu ! He drove that for three more summers!

Touchy! Questions are not criticisms; they are requests for information.
Most rat rods I've seen were built on a ladder frame. People run into each other in the summer, and die from it. With no reinforcement you are riding on a sheet of 26 gauge sheet metal on wheels.
Congratulations! It is still alive!
Your wish is my command.
