New to the forum, possibly purchasing an HHR today

Hi gang,

Nice to meet you all. :)

I've been eyeing the HHR for a few months and came across one that is in my budget.

2011 CHEVROLET HHR What's up with those wheels? Ugh.

I'm going to check out the car today and have my mechanic review it.

Are there specific things to look out for on HHR's? Common issues, etc.

Much appreciated!

GK

Welcome to the sight. With only 10k miles there shouldnt be anything wrong with it unless it was abused. There are common issues that come up as the mileage grows. Regular maintenance is key to these little trucklets. I have 124k on my 08 Panel and it has been relatively problem free other than wear and tear items.

The is a post on here that lists the common issues. Do a quick search at the top of the page and you will find it.

Good luck with the purchase!

Thank you, Vince!

Do you know which models have the remote start feature? The only thing I see different with this unit is having fog lights. Are fog lights part of a certain trim level?

brakes and front suspension are typical culprits on these as i am dealing with it now on my 09 SS! but they are not expensive fixes for the most part
lt, 2lt, ls, and SS are the trim levels. believe the lt models are 2.4l motors and the ls is 2.2l. to be honest the drivetrain's are all good for the most part, not many issues typically. if you get it then search away on here as there is a lot of good info, and good people as well!
couple of recalls to be aware of that you might want to check out if you do buy, ignition cylinder and steering linkage, both can be found by searching recalls on the web.
overall good little retro styled trucklets! dependable!

Welcome.

If the label in the glove box has "AP3" on it, it was delivered with remote start.
