Almost Broke 8 Seconds!

Another fantastic night of racing. now if I can just figure out what I did right and what I did wrong.

1st shot me and my Buddy's 'balt. I need a clay bar bad!
2nd Only got a dozen runs in last night.
3rd MONEY SHOT! It by far wasn't my fastest run but I almost clipped the 8 second mark on street tires! 9.158 @ 80.8. 60' of 2.362. Reaction .356

Here are two quick videos from last night. God Bless my buddy doing the video.... He tries.... we ran all night long and all he managed to somewhat get was two runs.

http://youtu.be/SYTBjxol980 My buddy Jason's 'balt

http://youtu.be/w1RJV73-1Ww Not my best or fastest run, actually looks quite pathetic. I think I'll ask the wife to take video next time.

nice times....i have the auto ss too. the biggest problem in the video seems to be too much tire spin. i been messing with the launch control at red lights trying to get launches with a little chirp and no spin. im not sure how well this will work. but im hoping

just the Turbo upgrade and a few bolt-ons. No too shabby for the automatic.

Awesome news!

I was watching at my local strip yesterday, I really want to run my 08' Auto (with really same mods to you)

Would like to see 14.30s in the 1/4, be faster than any Cobalt I saw run (like 5 supercharged, 3 turbo) fastest Balt I saw last night was 14.65, slowest was 17.4 (couldnt shift worth a crap!)

I had the fastest "street" or "spectator" car there, even my buddies 'balt was just a tad slower(average). I ran a full bolt-on 350Z, '04 Stang GT, a nicely built Honda Prelude, 67 GTO, and Jason's 06 'balt.

They were trying to keep the right side of the track for slicks or radials only, so no side by side stuff. but for times and speed.. my friends 'balt was the closest compition that night.

Side note: Jason said he actually has lost ET and MPH with some of his bolt-ons.

I saw a 2-3 MPH drop from re-installing a freshly cleaned and oiled K&N filter. The older paper filter got me into the 83 range, I think. I'll try re-swaping them next week. I also feel that I got better grip running 25psi in the tires, but again lost MPH. gotta find a balance with all parts. Tires are next purchase and a motor mount.

I am guessing with those mods and good air you maybe could see high 13's based on others experience?

Mid to high 13's seems reachable with the Automatic, and a few mods.... Wish I could find out , but there are only 1/8 miletracks around here.

Looks like you may need to drive to Bristol.... Or change your setup to run oval dirt tracks.......You could be the 1st to run Oval....http://www.racingin.com/track/tennessee.aspx
