The GM Genuine part number 25930724(the green one) is correct. And 25930725 for the other side.

They're not really green, I don't know why the pics are. I know because I have a set purchased from RockAuto.

If the shank of the ball joint fit the knuckle well, it’s at least possible that the car doesn’t have the original knuckles. Do you have the old LCA‘s? If so, you could measure the shank.

This is a common problem, I don’t know why the parts suppliers don’t correct their information. They should know by now.

When the wrong ball joint is installed in an SS, there are three possibilities. The shank is loose and flopping around making noise, or the knuckle cracked trying to close down on an undersize shank and flopping around making noise, or the knuckle bent and managed to grab the shank OK. I think the latter is unlikely, but if that’s what happened, then it may be difficult to install the correct ball joint.

45o0005 are different from what I bought originally. Did they fix the issue?

Oh, heck no. Even worse! Those are stamped steel. No HHR ever had those. Even Amazon incorrectly confirms them to be correct for SS. I just tried it that doesn’t make it right! The screenshot doesn’t show the trim levels selected but I selected SS. There are wrong wrong wrong!

OTTP is still promising SS ball joints by mid August. No one has ever had these before that weren’t part of an LCA assembly.

Cobalt SS “LNF“ 2008-2010 also has this problem.

New control arms are bought and will be installed in two weeks if not sold. If sold before they will be given to the new owner. Will compensate for labor/alignment.

Still should have no trouble selling it. A very nice car for the money.
