the info on it said that it would be available - read an option...

i'd guess that a limited slip would hold at least a 1500 premium... if not 2k...

but with the SS coming with the DIC that offers a "launch control" option standard why would you need an LSD? It might help in cornering but straight line acceleration.. LSD wouldn't make a huge difference given the capability of the computers running today's automobiles. The fastest Cobalt in Tucson right now doesn't have an LSD and left a Lancer Evolution at the tree and just kept pulling.

Doing a road course or using it in the snow?? then yes, by all means get the LSD.

Like LSD

I have one wheel spin on asphalt in the wet all the time if I poke it a little too hard. Would always opt for LSD when offered. And, do drive my HHR in the winter, nice on ice and show.

LSD should only be about $750. It would work in conjunction with the launch control.

Local dealer had a 5 speed SS with LSD option $495. I've looked at 20 or so automatics and never seen LSD. It would be a good addition to the launch control, 2 tires grip better than one.

Anyone have the RPO code for LSD option? I wouldn't consider a high torque setup without one. Launch control and stability control have nothing to do with LSD. Launch control simply governs engine behavior during launch in much the same way torque management works to protect an automatic transmission from a premature demise. Without LSD, launch control will pull back torque more aggressively once that one wheel drive starts to lose traction.
