500 MPT - 30.4 actual MPG in SS 2.0t
500 MPT - 30.4 actual MPG in SS 2.0t
Like it says, I just got over 500 miles on this last tankful!
In 30 years of driving I never even got 400 miles per tank before and only a few of my cars even got 300+
The last ~100 miles I used the instantaneous MPG to nurse it but the first 400 included a 112 MPH run, many on-ramps and plenty of 80 MPH highway.
I wasn't even thinking about cracking 500 until I was at about 450 and it told me I still had like 80 left.
I stopped at my house to pick up my gas can with a couple of gallons in it at 485 miles just in case.
I stuffed 16.4 gallons in it at the pump.
I know, it's a 16.2 gallon tank.
It got there on fumes but didn't buck or anything at all.
I'm totally impressed with this Ecotec motor and luv my Heritage Hot Rod
Anyone else crack 500 in their turbocharged SS?

I put ~60 miles on last night after filling, feathering the throttle, using ins avg.
DIC says my avg is 33.7 MPG with about 500 to go.
Here's the phone picture I took before resetting.

You are not alone. In January of this year I posted that I did a trip from Charlotte, NC to New Jersey and back on 2 tanks of gas (see post https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...0&postcount=10)
Over 525 MPT!
Over 525 MPT!
Great topic as I've just retuned from a 766 mi trip that started on Whidbey Island WA (our home) to Pacific City OR (beach house) from whidbey to Portland we avg 32.6 mpg
and for the whole trip we got 30.6 that includes fwy, city, 101 along the coast and of course a couple runs up to 125 mph
and approx 75 mph on the fwy. I couldn't be happier 1 1/2 tanks of gas, still have an approx range of 264 mi left and thats with all the mods which I believe helped.

Hey...when you're getting 50 cents off per gallon you want to squeeze in as much as you can!!!
set your cruise control and then look at your instant MPG.. then switch the A/C off.. lol what a difference it makes. mine went up 10-15 more miles per gallon :) so i guess the statement about better gas mileage without using the A/C is true.. lol
