Air filter
Oh Noooo...
I was afraid that this would get ugly about the K&N....
The K&N intake system works very well, & is worth every penny.
It addresses the restriction of the stock intake tubing.
What's really cool, is that the guys that will never get 'tuned',
can use this, & as a side benefit, this intake will help your stock tune.
With the stock tune my LTFT's were at +8, after install, my trims were
at Zero.
So a 'hard' part, that removes the intake restriction, & corrects the
stock 'rich' condition, is a most excellent buy...
And it won't let you down, as you continue to mod your 'buggy',
with more power producing mods.
This intake will help me break into the 11's next year, after installing
a ZFR.
If you have every read any posts buy Hyper6, you know that he has worked for Summit for years, & has posted some really good info.
When asked about K&N, he posted that it has been a most excellent company, over the years, with a super R&D department. And that they

Hrm, So I installed the air filter. It sounds more, I guess manly. Much better than my Mazda did with the air filter, when it was converted into ram air.
But, what I have noticed, is now it seems to break traction faster at start.. And fyi, the filter I ordered does fit in my air box, and is roughly half an inch shorter than the one I had in before, and so it truly fits.
Might slap the lid back on, and maybe down the road order the pipes. But for now, as my DD it is good. :P
next goal, get on e85 since its cheaper here. 93oct was $4.00 yesterday. Last time i checked e85 was like 3.50$

was told only 8%, but since I do more highway driving, wouldnt that kinda be better due to the higher speeds? I could see city driving go way down...
I think whoever told you 8% is somewhat off.....OR.....they may have been stating for the use of E10.
When I used E85 in my truck for about 4 tanks and a month and a half period, I noticed a drop of about 6 MPG.....25 to 19.

Lots of people here WERE using E85, but now it costs more to do that, so most quit. If you tune your car for it, you can get more power by using it, because it is less prone to knocking (lets you run more timing). So if you're out for max power it could still make sense. Otherwise, count on a 20 - 30% decrease in MPG across the board.
