Boost by gear?

Hey guys, Does anyone else with the stage 1 tune notice in first and second (comp mode and I) the car goes to 15psi then 3rd it's 25psi (on mine) and the same with 4th?

Just wondered if this was in the tune or just how some cars are.

Thanks!

My Experiences with the Turbo Upgrade so far:

1st gear, I have seen 14, 2nd has seen 15, and 3rd/4th have seen 24 when I first got the upgrade and was fully trying it out and roasting the rubber off the tires through the first two gears. And I mean holding my foot flat to the floor. Since driving it now for about a month, I have let off on the jackrabbit approach. Driven now, I rarely see more than 4-5 pounds in first and about 10-12 pounds in 2nd. I finally realized I can't go WOT in Comp Mode unless I am above 45-50mph or else, I just roast the tires even in D. I have even barked the tires doing almost 55 in I and Comp Mode flooring it. It could have helped that is was around 62-64 degrees outside and my IAT was only 66. Tires definitely seem like a good mod to make after the turbo upgrade or a tune.

Ok now that I'm seeing what others are getting what I get. When I originally got the tune, over a year ago, it did not do this. Last month my car was re flashed and not will hit 25 psi and settle down to 21 psi. I thought there was something wrong and that the flash didn't work. I'm almost assuming that GM has modified their tune since it was first released. Not sure how to tell biut my car runs much better now than before with stage tune.

Yes it won't go above 18 psi in first gear and 21 in 2nd while 3rd does go up to 25 psi but settles down. But I have made up my mind to drive this like an old man and do new mods such as looks and radio. No more moding to go fast.

Jeff, if your a stick thats why you can get more boost than they do. The turbo can only hit 25 on a spike(unless you have your DALs jacked up) and hold 22 to 6k(tuned). My tune(not stage) will hit 22, drop to 20 and hold that to 6k, then drop to 17 by 6500.

What's a DALs? Yeah the car isn't running like it did with the originaly stage tune. They flashed it 3 or so times and seems to act differently in boost.

I used to have it tuned but had Chevy flash it back to stage tune. I was asking HP tuner if their were things that GM couldnt write over because Im getting better PSI in 2nd- 4th gear than with my first Stage tune. Bill from HP tuner said GM write would erase everything that we put on the with HP tuner and all would be lost. I gues Im just worried that it's not all off the car.

You could do a write entire with your stock tune if your worried. I have a feeling that it be the same, and settle down a little after some miles. BTW, you have PM on hptforums. DALs are the desired air load tables. Did you sell your HPT or were you just tuned by someone local?
