choosing an aftermarket clutch

I appreciate all the input. I originally was planning on using the Spec Stage 3+. After reading what ZZP had posted on their website about some other clutch companies, spec included, I started to rethink...they have thier own clutch options, which are super high, like 800 for a stg 4, and they also sell the Exedy unit, so I thought it must be pretty good. That is the reason I contacted Exedy in the first place.
Jonboyb - I will check them out, they are in Athens if I remember, I will contact you, maybe they can do a prototype and I can get a discount!!!
HHRSouth - I have seen quite a few over on that other forum that we frequent, and a lot of guys over there are using the Clutchmasters.....hhhmmmmm?????? I wouldn't mind going with the Exedy and its price isn't that bad cause it comes with the flywheel, I just want to make sure that I make a good choice and from what they told me thier clutch is not the choice for me....but then again neither is the stock clutch if it is only rated at 175 ft/lbs...hahahahahahahaha
GCSD - is the ss your dd? if so, yikes! must be puttin down some whoop azz hp!!!!

I don't see the whole point in spending money on a flywheel/clutch combo when we have a perfectly fine flywheel in our cars. I would much rather find a clutch I could use my factory fly wheel with and just have it resurfaced and save money.

the Aluminum flywheel is lighter hence less weight.....Easier for the engine to turn...Hence faster.....Also its weight reduction for us fat people.....just my .02 worth.... I got a spec stage 5 in my civic and it's got show and go....It shakes the dash when i power shift it....

I have a project of my own going on. You could call it a sleeper
5 spd awd turbo van, running a completely forged 2.4 mitsubishi 4G64 engine, turbocharged with a TD06H-20G, Delta cams, etc, etc.
The (Micro) van is shorter then my HHR SS, weighs only 2750 lbs and uses the exact same AWD system in the Galant VR4's. Complete with a passengers side sliding door.
I have it all documented on Cardomain and a few Mitsubishi sites.
I've actually been driving the van around for the last 2 weeks while getting the Turbo swap and tuning done on the HHR SS.
Although I hate driving it in traffic because the clutch is a ***** to slip, more like a on/off switch.
My van @ 15 psi > HHR SS on Trifecta 24 psi tune
Though the HHR SS was a hell of alot easier to get mods and power from then the van and cost 1/2 as much to do so then the van. Plus the HHR SS way easier on the knees for pressing the clutch in.

Also go look on the cobalt forum there is a company called Kentucky Clutch that is making some crazy clutches. They are having a group buy going on now. The cool thing about this company is that if they dont have it available they will make it for you
