Gm Turbo Upgrade Dyno Results

Ok, I finally got to the performance shop to make a few pulls on the SS. After i got the car strapped down, we were ready to go. The first pull was identical as the pull I did 2 weeks ago before the install, 188.12hp. I was very disappointed. About 4 pulls later we had the same results. This is an auto car, we had the traction off. the engine will not make power over 5500rpm. the turbo goes away to about 2lbs after 5100. The last pull we did I put it in comp mode. The same results for rpm. but the screen was telling me we got more. To the tune of 232.43 max hp and 241.77 max torque. That was alot better. But what's with the rom govorner? Well, I talked to gcsd3742 (Eric) to let him know the news. Well, he cracked to numbers together at his casa, (I was driving home) and came up with this idea. The max torque with this kit is 315 and hp is 290. Well if you take 20-30% off those numbers you get around the numbers that I have. So, I guess that is what the numbers mean. I'll post some pics up. Their not very good. Camera phone. If any one else has put their car on the dyno please chime in. Especially if your running an auto. I would like to make sure we get the same results. Notice the linesdrop suddenly, we didnt let off the throttle, that was the ecm. It drops about 5150rpm, then tries to come back and drops again. We let off at 5500rpm. I had to wait for the Vette to get off the rack first.

That is one hell of a gain. Autos can have a drivetrain loss of 15-24% while manuels have 6-9%. I've seen LT1 camaros run those numbers in an Auto. Not bad at all.

Could you have had some tire slippage causing the ecm to pull back at the higher rpms? Cause my stick car definately has a higher redline than before. About 7000 by the tach, maybe 6900, but before I had a hard time getting it out of first gear in time before the limiter cut in, now its perfect.

all the cars should redline at 6500 because of the new tune from the kit...

I can't find the original datapoint, but I believe Steve Padilla (another GM Engineer on the project) said the GM Stage tune bumps the RPM limit to 6200.

I am not "staged" yet, but I did put mine on the dyno when I first got it. I am also a manual, not auto. I pulled 238/260, 245/261 and 237/252. That was bone stock with 2469 miles on the odo. Pulls were back to back with no cooldown or fan on the intercooler. It was a Dynojet dyno. I would tend to believe that something is wrong with the spikes in the upper RPM range.

I have an auto car and did a little run this AM and I have right at 11-12 lbs on the gage when the trans shifts the car right at 6k in RPM. In third gear I get a spike to 15 and then back to 11-12.

This will dramitacially affect your numbers sense HP is a calc of torque over avail. rpm. Your short a grand of it with no boost.

I would address this issue. Something is not right.

This was done on a Dynojet. On the road, I can pull rpm til the cows come home and with this new stage, I can pull up to 18lb maybe 20 in 1st and 2nd. Third, I believe I'm seeing beyond 20lb. I think. I believe that my wastegate needs to be slittle shorter. But it's always hot when I think about it. Has anyone else with an auto got a dyno sheet that looks like mine? The stage kit is the only thing done to this car.
