Got it done!

Picked up my car last night. OMG,what a difference! I only drove it home(about 18 minutes) and didnt go crazy with it. I nailed it in front of the dealer when I was leaving and it went nuts, broke the tires loose, hit 23 lbs of boost. It's very FAST now. The tech did a great job it seems. Only cost me $50.00 plus lunch. He is a personal friend. So far,so good. I hope it holds up well. I'm not sure the kit is actually worth $562.00, but it sure does wake the car up. Realistically,I would think $150.00-200.00 would be a fair price.
But,if you want your SS to wake up,get this upgrade!

Your funny. You got 30 hp for 562 dollars anfd think it wasn't worth the money??? That's about 18 dollars per HP. Go to other forums and compare how much per HP it costs them to increase their HP. That kit is the buy of the century and you guys with SS models got a real gift from GM.

I didnt say the extra 30 hp wasn't worth the money.....I am simply saying that to me, 2 sensors and a reflash for $562.00 is a bit much. I worked for a Chevy dealer as Parts Manager for 23 years and GM pricing is usually high.
Remember though,I am 41 and coming from an era of old GM musclecars where $562.00 got us an Edelbrock intake and a Holley 600 carb....

I think you took my comments out of context. I love the extra power.

But compare to today's prices....those Holleys are in the $350-400 market for a 650DP and the intakes are around the same.....add more if you want either of them to look "purdy".

I still turn wrenches on my "muscled-sports-car" and my Mighty Demon 850BT "blow-through" BarryGrant carb was expensive!

I sell performance parts for a living and how fast you want to go = $$$$$$.

The one thing you do get with this price is a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty that you seldom if ever get with most other performance parts.

I'm happy for you.

Looking forward to getting mine installed... But I guess it won't be done for a few months, due to GM's current state.

Glad you're enjoying the upgrade. And I think that you got your value for your $562.

You can view the value of the ECM flash upgrade attributed to software development. In that context, aren't you glad that Microsoft didn't develop it? It would possibly be more expensive for the entire kit and you'd be subject to Microsoft "patches" when things went wrong.

And it probably cost's less than an exhaust and intake repipe for the same HP gain.

Again, enjoy your FAST HHR and the money you saved upgrading it.
